As 2011 comes to an end, people are curious to see who has come out on top in terms of album sales this year. And it’s none other than Hallyu group Super Junior! They’ve set a brand new record with managing to sell the most albums each year for the past three years.
This year, from January 1st to December 27th, Super Junior has sold 355,900 albums according to “2011 Singer Awards“. Then along came Super Junior with ‘Mr. Simple‘.
The Type A version of the group’s fifth album sold a whopping 199,300 units and Type B added onto the sales with 53,500 copies. ‘A-Cha‘ sold a total of 73,900 copies. In second place was DBSK with 230,000 copies and then SNSD with 226,700 units. Rising groupINFINITE placed seventh with 124,100 units and solo singer IU came in at ninth with 92,900.
